Laziness is the representation of how useless we can be, lazy on the couch, watching TV while the real world was in a panic over Covid. Simple spectator before a devastated world.
This is the sixth piece in a series of a collection of 24 works, created during the 2020 lockdown. Unlike many others, Manolo Llaca developed this piece by experimenting with “Inventor” (3D program) and then carved in plaster.
In his work, the main theme is usually the portrait and the space. Influenced by his experience in design and drafting, Manolo's pieces tend toward a minimalist geometric point with a small dose of expressionism bestowed by his devotion to silent films. He seeks in each work the spatial relationship between matter and void, light and shadow, depth and peak, delineating the contours of each of the planes that make up the work. The materials with which the artist works are varied, but he has a great attraction for alabaster, plaster and metals.
