— Starry Night says “Thank you, Vincent”. It’s painted thinking about van Gogh. I read when I was young his letters to Theo, his brother. I feel I can relate so much to what he went through and his passion and “need” to paint. I loved his work in the museum in Amsterdam that I saw also in my youth. I saw one of his “Starry Night” paintings in November 2019 in Paris and I must say it brought tears to my eyes. Also the song “Starry Night Vincent” by Don Mac Lean moves me a lot. Lots of emotions in this work!
— While working on "Cruising South" I was feeling a little under the weather and painting is my best solace. I put the opera out loud and I evade into brighter worlds. This painting with its colours particularly managed to bring me back serenity and a happier mood.
