JULIET BEFORE LOVE
I named her Juliet because, when I think of the word LOVE for some reason, Romeo & Juliet comes into my mind.
This artwork is about SELF LOVE rather than the love for others. Juliet is the seed planted in the soil.
She welcomes the rain that waters her with love,
the sun rays that shine upon her with care,
she flourishes in a world of possibilities with a sense of belongingness.
Juliet learns that self love is a revolution that every cell of her body is marching for. She will not apologise for choosing herself.
A dragonfly before her eyes reminds her that she is wise to accept change in order to bring light into her life. Self love holds the power to connect with her true inner self, her soul.
JULIET AFTER LOVE
Love is really the most important emotion we can experience, why not exhaust its meaning in every way we can imagine.
Juliet now knows the horizon is not unreachable, she glitters brighter than the stars above her, she is no longer scared to ride the waves, she is safe in the wild world.
The beetle before her eyes tells her she was brave, she made progress in adding color to her life. Juliet is devoted in achieving the
goals she has set with consistency & good instinct. Now it's time to look around herself, she is not alone.
Camila Fenster
Earlier in life Camila studied in an Irish School and her “art school” were 16 years working as a production manager in advertisement films in the very best production companies way before the digital era.
Creativity, sensibility, story telling, image, light, and so much more involved was what made possible what she is dedicated to today. Later, already in the digital time, she took a photography course in Lisbon in a well known school called Ar.co. Here, she was able to learn how to use a digital camera, although all of post production she is self taught.
Living in Portugal and half Danish, Camila Fenster is an early lover of photography and travel, two passions that she merges with her artwork. The travels reflect the contact with different cultures and the result is a photographic portfolio rich in details - textures, shapes and objects that she later uses as if they were "paints". Her original work is based on the deconstruction of the images as a whole and then on the fusion of small elements that, altogether, tell a story. A real story, something inspired by the photographer's particular universe, the way she watches the world and her own life.
Camila Fenster's artworks were for the first time assembled at a private exhibition in Copenhagen, attended by art dealers, collectors and art lovers in general, with a huge success. After Denmark, the United Kingdom followed, then Portugal, the country where the Artist is based, the bridge to the rest of the world, and it is from here that Camila reveals her original work.
